Dr. Ahmad Samarji
Dr. Ahmad Samarji is currently an academic at Phoenicia University, Lebanon and an honorary fellow of Victoria University, Australia. His PhD thesis has been cited as the first worldwide dissertation on forensic science education. His diverse expertise and interests in education includes: math education, science education, STEM education, forensic science education, forensic medical education, ICT in education (ICTE), and internationalization of the curriculum.
In his ongoing research and continuous inquiry into forensic science education, Dr. Samarji pays particular attention towards generating understandings around the ontology and epistemology of forensic science and employing such understandings in shaping effective curricular and pedagogical approaches for the teaching and learning of forensic science and forensic medicine. Dr. Samarji also pays particular attention towards promoting generic skills in forensic science practice particularly critical thinking, communication skills (including ICT), problem solving, and lifelong learning. In a global and digital world, Dr. Samarji works on approaching forensic education and training from both an internationalized and digital lens.
Dr. Samarji served as the Vice President of the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV) and the Journal Committee Convenor for Prime Number, Vinculum, and Common Denominator in the period: Sep. 2011- Mar. 2015. He is currently a board member of several international organizations in the areas of forensic science, forensic medicine, and technology in education.

Dr. Christiane Paulus
Dr. Christiane Paulus studied Protestant Theology, Religious Science and Philosophy in Marburg, Paris and Frankfurt. At the Graduate College in Marburg “Religion in the Modern Lifeworld” she finished her PhD with a research on Interreligious Praxis under the Perspective of Postmodern Theories.
She teaches Hermeneutics, Religious Sciences and Cultural Theories at the German Section of Islamic Studies at the Azhar University, Cairo.
Her main (empirical) research topics: Christian Orthodoxy in the modern Islamic environment, the Islamic Influence on Europe during the Middle Age, the link between Migration, Gender and Religion, Reconstruction of early Islamic Life worlds.

PROF. DINA A. SHOKRY

 

Prof. Shokry is a Professor and chair of the department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology –Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University-Egypt. President of New Mediterranean Academy of Forensic Sciences (nMAFS). She is the president of the Arab Union of Forensics and Toxicology (AUFT) which is a branch of Arab Medical Union. Prof. Shokry joined the Scientific Advisory Board of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (OTP) February, 2014.
She is a board member of the International Association of Body damage (AIDC)-representative of North Africa and Middle East. Prof. Shokry is a board member of the National Committee of Organ Donation and national Committee of research ethics. She is a director and instructor of the training program for Gaza Forensic Doctors and crime scene investigators, Palestine via Arab Medical Union. From 2004 till now she is the editor-in chief of The Egyptian Journal of Forensic Sciences and Applied Toxicology (cited). she is a board member of Research Ethics and clinical research, WHO, Cairo, the Executive Director of Research Ethics Committee, MUST. and a board member of the Middle East Clinical Research Association (MECRA), Lebanon. Dr. Shokry is the contact for the DAAD academic activities in Egypt and UNHCR, ICRC and UNFPA (United Nation and International Committee of Red Cross preventative bodies) forensic consultant in Egypt. Prof. Shokry is a member of ad hoc committees for constructing the medical directory for the Egyptian doctors to deal with the female victims of violence and to put the Egyptian law for malpractice and medical responsibility, 2014. She is a member of the advisory board for evaluation of the scientific researches to promote the forensic sciences academic staff in Egypt and Iraq (Alnahrain University)
Prof. Shokry is the chair of National Research Ethics Committee, Ministry of health, 2015. She got certificates in Basic and Advanced Security in the Field, 2015 from United Nation Department of Safety and Security(UNDSS). She is one of justice rapid response roasters, professor Shokry accomplished mission in training healthcare providers in Jordan on how to deal with cases of Gender based violence UN Women. She is part of national training program for preparing the physician to manage cases of gender-based violence – UNFPA.

Prof. Shokry has published more than 50 researches in national and international journals. Dr. Manal S. Bamousa
Manal S. Bamousa is a medical doctor, certified MD in 2003 and had the subspecialty of Forensic Medicine in 2010, in which she became the first female forensic doctor in Saudi Arabia.
In 2011-2012, she enrolled into an advance-training course in UK. Both modules have been successfully completed with an honor level “in the last” named as: Forensic Medical Examination of Rape and Sexual Assault FMERSA, Manchester University.  These two preparatory courses would qualify the candidate to enroll into the DFCASA exam, which stand for: Diploma in the Forensic and Clinical Aspect of Sexual Assault, leading to: licentiate of the faculty of forensic and legal medicine in UK.
Currently she is working in Dammam forensic medico legal center as an acting consultant who engaged in writing a medico legal report for all suspicious criminal court cases for more than 10 years.  She is also holds position of head of clinical forensic medicine center for assault survivors in eastern province of this country that located in Dammam Maternity and children hospital. It aims to provide a comprehensive forensic and medical services for all victims of sexual and physical assaults, which has an international standards and high level of career proficiency in my area.
She has different memberships, did many scientific researches and studies, coordinated different training forensic assaults courses and actively participated as an oral / poster speaker in many well-known local and international conferences, such as; 9th annual conference of St’ Marye’s assault referral center in 2010 – Manchester University, American Academy of forensic science in Washington – DC in 2013, BITs International Congress of forensics and Police Tech- 2011 and 2016 and many others.
She produced plenty of researches and recently had the honor to co-author a forensic book chapter under title of: ‘’Personal injury and damage ascertainment under Civil Law’’- this fruitful contribution has made by a Panel writers of 58 juridical, clinical and or medico-legal experts coming from 21 different countries and representing all 5 Continents.

 

Prof. METE KORKUT GÜLMEN
 
Dr. Gülmen was born in Adana in 1957. He had licensed as an Anatomo – Pathology Medical Specialist in Cukurova University, worked at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy and at the Forensic Medicine Department in Adana. He had been a fellow to the Forensic Medicine of Dundee University, in Scotland in 1995 and received his PhD from Cukurova University. He had attended to several courses and programs in AFIP, Bethesda, USA as postdoctoral studies.
Dr. Gulmen had been the Chair of the Department in Cukurova University since 2005 continuously and was as a lecturer, researcher and chair of the department in different times since 1992. He is the Chairperson of The Forensic Pathology section for the last 20 years.
He had been the president of the National Forensic Medicine Specialists Association and the Board of the Forensic Medicine Specialists.
He had organized The Mediterranean Academy of Forensic Sciences (MAFS) meeting in Antalya in 2009as the President of the academy. He organized the 22nd IALM Meeting in Istanbul in 2012. and had organized the 22nd IALM Meeting in 2012 at Istanbul – Turkey.
He had organized the International Sexual Violence Investigation Symposium in Adana in 2015 as well as the Justice Rapid Response Course. Board member of the New MAFS and President of the Eurasian Academy of Forensic Medicine and Sciences.
He works on Sudden Deaths, Cardiac Pathologies, Children Abuse – Neglect cases and Violence Against Women as a Human Rights Violation Issue.
Married for 30 years with a daughter 29 and a son 25.
 

Prof. Mohammed Elfawal

MB ChB, MSc, PhD
Graduated from Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine in 1976 and had postgraduate training in Glasgow University, Department of Forensic Medicine and Science, in the early 80’s. Full Professor of Forensic Pathology, King Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt in 2000. Joined the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University in 2007. Experience extends over a period of 40 years, which has been broadened through practicing in varying cultures and medico legal systems as exemplified by work in Egypt, Scotland, Bosnia, various parts of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. Member of UN International Team (ICTY) investigating War Crimes in the former Yugoslavia (1999-2001). External examiner in Libya, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Member of many International Forensic Organizations. Member of Editorial Board and reviewer of multiple International Forensic Journals. Main areas of interest include Cardiovascular Pathology, Pathology of Sudden Death and Forensic Anthropology.
